ELY  is a beautiful Cathedral City situated just outside Cambridge. There is an attractive riverside area, with pubs and cafes, from where you can organise boat trips, and the magnificent medieval cathedral dominates the city. The cathedral contains UK's national stained glass museum, and if you like heights you can climb the West Tower for the best views of the area. There are lots of good walking routes, many along the river. Ely also has a Cinema, a bowling alley, and twice weekly market. You will be able to use the local leisure centre and swimming pool during your stay.

CAMBRIDGE  is easily accessible by train, bus or car and offers visitors an opportunity to wander around the city centre admiring the 31 colleges that comprise Cambridge University. A visit to Cambridge would not be complete without a visit to King's College Chapel and taking the opportunity to glide along the river Cam in a punt. Cambridge boasts a world-renowned Botanical Garden. There is also an active music and theatre programme available throughout the year.

NEWMARKET  If you are interested in horses, or just fancy a flutter, then Newmarket, the home of British Horseracing is the venue for a lively day racing.

OTHER LOCAL EXCURSIONS  Angelsey Abbey. Wicken Fen. Wimpole Hall house and Farm. Imperial War Museum Duxford. Audley End, Sandringham - the winter home of the royal family.
